Blue Swallow Motel for Sale The Blue Swallow Motel, a classic Route 66 business in frozen-in-time Tucumcari, New Mexico, has closed and is for sale. The owners, Hilda and Dale Bakke, bought the historic motor court in 1998 and restored eleven rooms. Now they're moving to Minnesota to care for a sick family member.
The Blue Swallow was built in 1939 and is listed on National and State Historic Registers. Parties interested in owning and maintaining the Blue Swallow can write to blueswallowmotel@hotmail.com.
