There is an oak that's older than dirt and some of the branches hang down to the ground, but it's laden with old shoes. There has to be at least 50 pairs, but possibly more (I've never counted). No one that I have asked knows how or when it got started, but it's a curiosity all the same. From the look of the shoes, it doesn't seem like there have been any recent additions. The spot is used for arts, crafts, and antique shows.
