Burns, Oregon - Large Ball of Twine

County Museum. They possess a large ball of twine. I don't know why. [Dac Tama, 08/05/1998]

[RA: September 2008: The Ball is made of string, not twine. It weighs 265 pounds and is reportedly 40 inches in diameter. We were told that a Mrs. Henry Steward spent 18 years making the ball "to maintain her sanity" after she lost a son during World War II.]
