Saco, Montana - One-Room Schoolhouse of Chet Huntley Chester "Chet" Huntley was David Brinkley's partner on the NBC Evening News program, "The Huntley-Brinkley Report" [from 1956-1970]. You can visit the one-room school house he attended in Saco, MT, years before he became famous. Just pull open the front door. Immediately you are facing a bulletin board to which are affixed various photos and paper memorabilia. Step to one side and by peeking through a hurricane-fence cage you can view a reconstructed Great Plains school room of the early 20th century. The stopped clock, the flag, the pot-bellied stove, the chalkboard, and the
diminutive desks don't conjure for me the memories that "Good night, Chet," "Good night, David," does. [Chuck Rhode, 05/26/2005]
