Safari Club Restaurant - Animals Attack!

The Safari Club is no more. It has been sold to a new owner and the animal trophies have been moved to somewhere in the Seattle area.

Safari Club Restaurant - Animals Attack!

There's a place in Estacada Oregon, outside (south east) of Portland, OR called The JEN JEN Safari Club with the biggest assortment of stuffed animals in these parts of the Northwest. It's a full service restaurant, lounge and pool hall with live bands on weekends. The animals are depicted in hunting poses some behind glass others you can touch. The locals call it "The Dead ZOO". All were killed by one local man, past owner Mr. Glen Parks, who is also opening a wildlife Safari of sorts in Tillamook, OR -- the Cheese Capital of Oregon.

Safari Club Restaurant - Animals Attack!

When friends come visiting in Portland Oregon, I take them to the Safari Club Restaurant and Bar in Estacada. In the bar you can dine next to glassed-in cases of stuffed wild animals. These cases are scenes of different animals attacking one another -- complete with bloody claw marks. Over the dance floor is an african lion ready to take out the next group of line dancers. You'll either find it intriguing or be completely grossed out.
