Allentown, Pennsylvania: Liberty Bell Museum (Closed)
The Liberty Bell was hidden here under floorboards, hay, and manure to keep it from being discovered by the British, who wanted to melt it into weapons to kill Americans. Museum had a replica Liberty Bell that you could ring. Opened in 1962, closed in 2023.

At Christmas time they have a very cute puppet show. "Pip The Mouse" was a very popular puppet show from the now defunct Hess Department Store.

There's a replica Liberty Bell here now (the real one is back in Philadelphia). From September 1777 to the summer of 1778 it was hidden here, under church floorboards, hay, and manure to keep it from being discovered by the British, who would have loved to melt it into cannons and ammo to kill Americans.
