It may be of interest to know there is another very different story as to how John Grimm got buried where he is and how he died. According to a local resident, now deceased, Mr. Grimm was travelling from Mt. Vernon to Marion to investigate employment opportunities with his brother. They stopped alongside the road to camp for the night and for whatever reason, his brother killed him and buried him on the spot. This story was shared with me by John Ebert, formerly a veterinarian in Waldo whose father apparently shared it with him and may have known Mr. Grimm.
