Christiana, Pennsylvania - Corn Crib Restaurant and Chuck Stop Restaurant Chuck Artinian sold the Corn Crib Restaurant to a gentleman who now owns and operates "Happy Rooster" (the Corn Crib did not go to auction).
Chuck was an intelligent man full of wit and never missed an opportunity to get to know everyone. Almost two years past and it just isn't the same without him. Chuck was a good and loyal friend, which is very rare in a businessman of his stature. A good friend once said, "I always felt he was an 'average person' who let 'average people' have a chance to experience the 'big time,' letting us ride on his shoulders through doors that only he could open open for us." Some people forget themselves once they "make it," but not Chuck. [Janet Poteau, 01/26/2010]
Christiana, Pennsylvania - Corn Crib - Owner Dead, Ambiance Gone The Corn Crib was sold at an auction and is now a bar called The Happy Rooster. The Corn Crib's original owner, Chuck Artinian, passed away April 25, 2008. I live in nearby Parkesburg and would go there usually with out-of-town guests. Chuck would come to your table and do magic tricks. I'll never forget the time he took my cigarette (old habit) and my sweater and made the cigarette disappear into the sweater! They would give everyone a brand new washer and dryer just for stopping in...a screw washer and a small 1 inch piece of a handi-towel! All the signs along the road said 'don't eat here!" You could write on the walls and ceiling and there were these strange looking mannequins sitting in booths. I miss the place and Chuck's sense of humor.

Christiana, Pennsylvania - Corn Crib The
Corn Crib is a neat little restaurant that resembles the Twilight Zone inside. The food is okay, but the ambience is weird which makes it a lot of fun! There's an old taxi crashed into the building. There's parking meters at the small bar so you can time yourself. Customers can write on the ceiling or walls. Coasters are drawn on the bar to save money. The Corn Crib is more for entertainment than fine dining. The owner even insults you if it's your first time there. The Corn Crib is located on Route 41 in Christiana, between Atglen and Gap.
