Elmer's Auto and Toy Museum

Sadly, Elmer's Museum -- or at least p[art of it -- is closing. According to his son, Brad, Elmer passed away in July 2019 and the family decided to sell "everything over three feet." The auction is September 14-17, 2022, with the plan to sell one car a minute over four days. We visited August 19 and considered ourselves lucky to be one of the last to see this amazing collection of cars, motorcycles, and child pedal cars. The family has not decided if it wants to keep the toy section of the museum going.

Elmer's Auto and Toy Museum

Elmer's Auto and Toy Museum could actually be five museums in one, so big that one can look all day and still not see everything. It has over 100 antique, classic and muscle cars; over 100 motorcycles, Harleys, Indians, Cushmans, Doodle bugs, Vespas, Hondas, and the list goes on. A large collection of antique dolls; over 700 pedal cars, pedal airplanes, and pedal tractors; an antique tool collection; many riding toys; an antique indoor car-go-round amusement ride; and an enormous toy collection covering miles of shelves.

As of 2012, Elmer Duellman was still obsessively adding to his already obsessively large collection. It currently fills five barns and sheds.
