Galveston, Texas - Giant Neptune and Mini-Golf Here is the Mermaid at the mini golf course a few months before Ike took it out the sea. [Manda Malice, 07/05/2009]
Galveston, Texas - Giant Neptune Statue There is an enormous Neptune statue at a Galveston miniature golf course named "Neptune's Kingdom" along the waterfront. I'm not really big on photographing miniature golf courses but this thing was so huge (and cool) it commanded the attention of my camera. At the intersection of two major roads, one of which gets you to the beach). The thing is so big it is impossible to miss. [Richard Weiss, 09/22/2005][RA: Let's hope it was built to withstand a category 5 hurricane -- that trident looks a little flimsy. May 2009: Bad news -- it wasn't. K King writes: "Neptune and the rest of the putt putt was washed away during Hurricane Ike in 2008."]
