Visitor Tips and News About Steve Canyon Statue
Actually. the Steve Canyon Statue is way bigger than 4 ft., and the historic log cabin behind it houses KGoat Radio, a listener-sponsored and -staffed community radio station, one of the best in the country (especially for a small mountain town). Idaho Springs itself is a great real mountain town -- not a tourist trap or slick ski town.[James Martin, 08/24/2016]
I visited this "statue" recently, and I would say it isn't worth the time. The picture is extremely deceiving. The statue is actually about four feet tall and next to a rather unispiring building. The town it's in is actually quite nice though -- the Heritage Inn has huge rooms and there's an internet cafe and a few bars in town. Just don't be expecting a huge monument to Steve Canyon, the cartoon man you've never heard of.[Mike Francis, 08/03/2006]
