Another Buried Plymouth in Tulsa

Ten years before the 1957 Belvedere from Oklahoma's fiftieth anniversary was dug up (and it was discovered that they put the gunite inside the time capsule when it needed to be on the outside to keep the water out) Tulsa had its hundredth anniversary. The city decided it would be cool to bury another Plymouth to be dug up later. They selected a Prowler, bought it, and, being slightly smarter than the politicians of 1957, enclosed it in an aluminum case before burying it in the old Central Park (which was renamed Centennial Park at that time). In 2007, when the condition of the poor Belvedere became known, it was decided to exhume the Prowler and re-bury it above ground. The large mound can be seen near the corner of 6th and Owasso.

The concrete-capped, grass-covered burial mound is plainly visible in the park, although most visitors probably don't notice it.

The Time Capsule burial vault is covered with slabs of concrete. It's interesting to read about if you're in the area.
