Giant Cow

My grandparents used to take me here when it was a dairy selling and serving milk products. They called the cow Dinah, as in first name "Dinah" and last name "Three-O-Ninah!" So the name seems to be consistent! [Paul, 09/07/2010]

The Giant Cow actually has a name! She is "ThreeOnina." My wife tells me that's the name, which reflects the fact that she stands alongside Route 309, that was selected as part of a contest held sometime in the 1960s. We believe the contest was sponsored by a dairy that was located there possibly in conjunction with an area radio station.

The dairy, station, and exact date have long faded from our memory. But the name remains and "ThreeOnina" still stands by the side of the road! [David DeCosmo, 11/03/2009]

Everyone loves her and uses her for a landmark when giving directions to people. In the past the local SPCA has benefitted when people could paint a portion of the cow for a donation. [Kim, 08/22/1998]
