She wore it for some time, and donated it to the museum on her demise in the 1950s. She also fashioned a rattle necklace and a pair of snakeskin shoes. She also did a taxidermy job on one rattlesnake that is also on display in a protective case with the dress.
The dress was at the Centennial Village in Greeley until its transfer to the new museum, where it is much more accessible -- six days a week year round. Admission to the museum, that includes many other permanent and traveling exhibits, is free. [Norman Ritchie, 11/12/2005]
