Statue of johnny One Feather Johnny One Feather runs this tourist trap and has gold panning, a giant statue of himself, and lots of entertaining stories of the days when he was a gun fighter and stunt man. Visiting here was the highlight of my children's trip! [monique lewis, 09/27/2011]
Johnny One Feather Had a great time on our visit to Johnny One Feather. He was full of interesting stories, from his movie work to his home, which he said is within sight of Mt. Rushmore. The prospector statue is him, the mural at his panning station is him and his land. Even the dirt we were using for panning was brought in from his property. We were glad we stopped.
We also stopped at the muffler man/pick-ax man next door. [Steve Cook, 12/08/2009]
Prospector Johnny One Feather Johnny One Feather is a real nice guy -- he will help you get gold in the panning pits. My niece and her cousins enjoy it every time we go. I highly recommend it be a stop on your next trip to South Dakota. [Tania, 03/23/2009]
Prospector I really doubt that this is a true mufflerman, but he is nice. Rapid City, South Dakota, highway 16 about 3-5 miles south of Rapid City before Reptile Gardens. Very entertaining road -- lots to do -- Cosmos and Marine World. [Russell Metzner, 03/30/1999]
