Corn Cob Silo A fun, unexpected find on a country road in Virginia farm country.
[Wayne & Karen Brown, 12/02/2012]The corn cob silo is part of the Cows-n-Corn Udderly Amazing Farm. They have dairy cows and grow the feed on adjoining land. They do field trips, sell homemade ice cream, and in the fall they have a bunch of harvest days when they are open. Except for drought years, they also have a really fun corn maze. Lots of field trips (scouts, schools) come, but it's a pretty big place and it's never seemed too crowded when we've gone. Owned by a local family (the Leonard family), they are super friendly, and they can tell you a whole lot about the dairy business!
[Holly Lagasse, 09/03/2012]Near the village of Midland, Virginia, there is a silo painted top to bottom like a corn cob. This has been around for at least 10 years now.
