Ottawa, Ontario - Cats of Parliament Hill Behind the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill (sort of Canada's version of the White House), a large group of otherwise homeless cats live in their own mini-Parliament building. An old man named Rene feeds and cares for them. There are 28 cats living there, I believe, and Renee has names for them all. They exist only on Rene's own money and public donation -- even though they live on the hill, they don't get any government funding. Other animals haunt the compound too, such as birds, black squirrels, chipmunks ,racoons, and a big old groundhog -- pretty nervy considering the close proximity to the cats. Pet the cats at your own risk.
