Houston, Texas - 50-foot Saxophone Made from Cars

I stopped by recently and the new owner of the property was there, renovating the building. He said that he is fully renovating the sculpture - removing rust, repairing broken glass, and repainting it blue - and that a new bar will be opening on the site in fall of 2009. [Boston David, 08/28/2009]

This huge sculpture -- a detailed red saxophone made from VW Bugs and car parts -- is still visible. However, the original restaurant is long gone, and the building looked closed. And we observed a few homeless people resting in the shade of the giant musical instrument. [Matt Kirby, 07/22/2007]
