Gibsland, Louisiana: Bonnie and Clyde Death Site

Where America's favorite outlaw lovebirds were riddled with dozens of bullets by hidden lawmen. The old stone marker was also riddled, so a new, more vandal-proof marker was added in 2014 that shifted emphasis to the posse over the lawbreakers. It was stolen in 2023.

Ambush monument.

Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Site

Our GPS steered us wrong, so look at your odometer when trying to find the markers where Bonnie and Clyde were shot in an ambush (They're about eight miles south of the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum). There is an older, shot up, tombstone-looking stone marker, and a newer podium-style marker with the story of the ambush.

[Kim G., 01/04/2015]

The new monument was erected in 2014 (the 80th anniversary of the ambush) with more of a focus on the "good guy" posse than the previous monument. The older monument has been blasted and hacked at for decades by those driven crazy by Bonnie and Clyde.

The new bronze marker is in place at the ambush site. Old shot up concrete market is still there with lots of graffiti.
