Buddy Holly statue. Buddy Holly Statue

After nine months in storage and a thorough wash-and-wax, the Buddy Holly statue is back in Lubbock. It previously stood outside the Civic Center, sensible placement when it was unveiled in the late 1970s. Now it's been moved a mile-and-a-half south, where it stands across the street from the relatively new Buddy Holly Museum. The plaques from the West Texas Walk of Fame, which surrounded the statue, have been moved as well. The whole plaza is floodlit at night so that travelers on nearby I-27 will always be able to see Buddy. [RoadsideAmerica.com Team, 05/10/2011]

Statue of Buddy Holly

Statue of the late great Buddy Holly and Buddy Holly memorabilia at every turn. Not to leave out the world's greatest Prairie Dog Town. And plenty of golf, bowling, water skiing, barrel racing, Joyland's acres and acres of amusement park rides, calf ropin, fishin, windmill museums, planetarium, goat chasin, science spectrum with omnimax, square dancin, horn toad observin (don't touch -- they're endangered you know), wild annual tornado concerts, international kite and frisbee flyin...
