Fairfax Station, Virginia - The Curious Case of the White Squirrel Corpse I recently obtained a dead specimen found along a mountain bike path. It was in pristine shape so I had it preserved for my classroom. I also learned from the taxidermist that there have been sightings of more than one in a little railroad town called Fairfax Station, located in the western part of Fairfax County. I plan to investigate further and will update you of any findings. At first I thought what I had found was a unique mutation that had amazingly survived long enough to reach reproductive maturity. I don't know the actual cause of death -- there was no evidence of any trauma and the squirrel appeared to be well fed. [Mark Khosravi, 04/23/2006][RA: Fascinating! This is not a public attraction, but it's hard to resist publishing a new photo of a stuffed white squirrel...]Address: Fairfax Station, VA
Directions: Fairfax Station is at the intersection of Fairfax Station Road and Rt. 123 or Ox road. The nearest town is its sister railroad town known as Clifton. Burke is the nearest densely populated suburb and is separated from Fairfax Station by Rt. 123.
