- I-35 exit at Salado. Drive east two blocks to Main St., then south across Salado Creek. Just south of the bridge, turn left on Royal St. The mermaid is in the creek, just east of the bridge, next to the tennis courts, in Pace Park.

Indian Mermaid Statue What happened to Sirena??! The trees around her spring are all cut down, and she is missing! We visited March 14 2011, intending to have a short peaceful visit to her spring. GONE. Spring is there, the commemoration plates and the viewing bench are still there, but she is gone, and all the lovely trees have been cut down. [Phil Dunlop, 03/18/2011][RA: Sirena was damaged in a flash flood in September 2010 (That's what took out the trees as well). She's currently in the mermaid shop for repairs. Her sculptor, Troy Kelley, is reattaching a finger that was snapped off, and trying to smooth out some unattractive gravel pits.]
