Snowman - Blizzard Capital

We visited Kenaston and the Snowman yesterday. The Snowman is now holding a hockey stick and is apparently the mascot for the local ice hockey club. He has been freshly painted and really looks great. He stands in a place of honor in front of two grain elevators with a Canadian flag proudly flying behind him.

Snowman - Blizzard Capital

Kenaston, a small prairie town south of Saskatoon, features an 18-ft. tall top-hatted Snowman. Next to the snowman, a sign boasts that Kenaston is the "Blizzard Capital of Saskatchewan."

It's always an important discussion in town when it comes to deciding what the Snowman should be holding. In the past it's been a snow shovel, but they may have switched to a hockey stick in recent years as part of a restoration.

Huge Snowman

Last seen in 2000, this statue of a snowman is 18' tall and built out of plastic I believe. When travelling from Saskatoon to Regina, it's a convenient place to stop for gas, so you might as well check it out! It's easy to find, as Kenaston has a small population..
