Scrap Metal Fossils I visited the Hanksville scrap metal fossils in October 2010 and they are all still there (though a bit rustier).

Desert Inn Motel Scrap Metal Fossils In the little "town" of Hanksville, UT, there is an abandoned hotel on the main strip which boasts about 5-10 scrap metal "fossils." All look like animals you would see in museums, but made of pieces of scrap metal and painted white.
[Jim Heverin, 06/16/2005]In Hanksville (named after Hank's, the restaurant, but that's another story) are a couple of curious, ahem, sculptures. Seems somebody thought the guy who makes the dino-skeletons out of car parts was cool, and tried it himself. The best one was a life-size critter whose skull was composed of the hood and trunk lid of a Beetle. Not truly cool, more like truly crap, but I'm getting the idea that your site's about the schmaltz. Was there last in January '97.
