Robert Is Here, home to the Southernmost Purple Martin Houses in the Continental USA, is a roadside fruit mecca that has been operating for more than 60 years. There are llamas and iguanas, live music, and lots of photo-ops (Key Lime Shakes - Avoid Scurvy). This is a must stop before or after a day in the Everglades.
[Jennifer Kefer, 01/10/2024]I visited the Purple Martin site, and in addition to the birdhouses, the adjacent Robert Is HereFruit Stand is also fun to visit. A local tourist attraction itself, it has a small petting zoo, antique farm equipment on display, and unusually flavored milk shakes. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.
