Corpus Christi-Padre Island, Texas - Pirate and Smuggling Museum The Pirate and Smuggling Museum has been shut down. The owner went back to England and his stuff was bought by other people who opened up a gift shop and restaurant called Moby Dick's. It uses the pirate stuff for decoration. Also, if you eat in the restaurant, you get a discount at the gift shop (where I bought a pretty awesome pirate flag and a mug for pirate rum!)

Corpus Christi - Padre Island, Texas - Pirate and Smuggling Museum A new attraction has opened on Padre Island -- the Pirate and Smuggling Museum. Dunno yet if it's our kind of place (it's not enough to just show dubloons and a couple of rusty scabbards under glass). But usually with pirates, between the peg legs and the scurvy, you can't go wrong. Curator John Dowling's collection was started by his magician father in England.
