Burger Man Statue

The "Burger Man Statue" once held aloft a hamburger, and the original sign below him read "Burger Man."

Puffy Baker Man.

Shirley, Indiana's biggest claim to fame is the fact that it is divided down the center of town by two counties. Shirley Road or Main Street is the county line, dividing the west part of town which is in Hancock County, Indiana and the East part of town which is in Henry County, Indiana.

The Baker - Chef sign is on top of a pole, making judging his size difficult, but he is nowhere near the size of a muffler man or that type of attraction.

An acquaintance of mine, a life long resident of Shirley, told me this used to be an ice cream shop years ago, he told me it was currently being remodeled and there was a two man roofing crew putting on a new roof when I was there and they were very curious about me taking these pictures.

The box in his right hand says: "Judy's Carry Out." He's in desperate need of a new coat of paint.

So it's not a Happy Chef after all. The current owner estimates height at 10 ft., and believes the figure held an ice cream cone at least 25 yrs. ago. The previous owner bought the figure used from somewhere...

Or chubby chef statue.

Fat baker man.

Large Baker Man

Giant, short fat man with chef hat and one hand up as to hold something, one down as holding a carry-out box. He has a big turned up nose. He needs some attention, maybe just fresh paint. He is standing outside a vacant, run down building.

Sounds like it could be a Happy Chef statue.
