Blanchard, North Dakota - World's Tallest Manmade Structure Three miles west of Blanchard, North Dakota, stands the world's tallest manmade structure, the KVLY TV mast. At 2,063 feet, it's pretty darned tall. Interestingly, the FAA has since imposed a 2,063-foot limit on structures, so no new mast will ever be higher than this one, at least in the U.S. We visited this impressive edifice on the anniversary of a significant day in its history -- August 8, 2006. This was the 15th anniversary of the collapse of the Warszawa Radio Mast in Konstantynow, Poland, formerly the world's tallest structure made by humans. When the Warszawa mast failed in 1991, the KVLY mast was catapulted into first place. [Mark Newlon, 09/04/2006]
