Melody Muffler Sculptures
The Muffler family has lots of company. The collection extends around the corner, and even has some curbside creatures.

The sculpture garden grows. It's been a long time since anyone submitted a tip about this, so I wasn't sure what we'd find. To our delight, Melody Mufflers sports at least 30 metal sculptures of various sizes. And a Point of Interest! If you're in Walla Walla to do some wine tasting, this is a 10 minute trip from downtown. We happened to be there on a Sunday, so we just pulled into the parking lot to take pictures.
[Jenny Greenleaf, 03/16/2014]As you drive past MELODY MUFFLERS, trying not to obstruct traffic on Highway 125 through town, you can't help but be distracted by the wonderful "junk men" rock band out front, as well as whatever other creatures the proprietors have dreamed up in their spare time lately. There is an auto with a huge spider welded atop, a T. Rex and all sorts of other clever creatures. These guys are so creative they even won a local art award last year.

Mike Hammond, owner of Melody Muffler, was featured in a recent issue of Natl' Geographic for his artwork, that is displayed in front of the shop, made out of mufflers and assorted etc. Also...Mike Hammond (the owner) plays drums for a local band called Iguana Hat!
[Layne Schroeder, 09/23/2000]Hey, my muffler shop is in Walla Walla. It all started with the muffler family: Muff Man, his wife Muffy, son of a muff man and their dog "Spot Weld." After a protest from some conservative residents, Muffy traded in her big funnels for smaller ones. Other stories about the art can be told. Go to 9th and chestnut and talk to Maniac Mike at Melody Muffler.
