Cool Springs Station

I read comments elsewhere online in April 2016 that the station store is now closed. Not sure if it's closed permanently?

[Christine M, 05/29/2016]

The station did close briefly in April, but it's reopened with a new full-time caretaker, "J.B." Barger. We spoke with J.B., and he said that visitors are once again welcome.

1920s Route 66 Gas Station

We happened to stop into Cool Springs for a cool drink and found a roadrunner just outside the front door. The lady inside quickly came out, gave him a bite to eat and explained that her (the roadrunner) name was Nedley and that she had some chicks out back. I suppose they'll be a whole family out there soon.
