Wilson The Turkey - Deceased

Wilson the Turkey has become an Evansville celebrity -- he is often spotted standing in traffic at Petersburg and Campground Road. Wilson is a wild turkey who loves to make the morning commute to work a difficult one because he stands right smack in the middle of the road and forces all the cars to go around him. People have even put up signs telling you to slow down for Wilson the Turkey. [derek cohoon, 12/24/2006]

[RA: Wilson tangled with one car too many and was killed on the morning of election day, 2008. His ashes were scattered on Feltman Road, the street where he appeared in 2006 and began his nearly three-year game of chicken with local vehicles.]
