Branson, Missouri: Mount Rushmore with Fake Celebrity Heads

A Mount Rushmore replica with almost recognizable long-dead Hollywood star heads.

Another mildly interesting stop in Branson. The heads aren't so much an attraction in itself as it is just a way to lure people to the Hollywood Wax Museum, which is kinda cute (there are some good wax statues and some not-so-good ones. In short, I've seen better).

The Roadside America team suggests that the heads are supposed to look like John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and Oliver Hardy. Really though, I can't think of anyone who'd do Oliver Hardy without his best buddy Laurel, so I think it's a bad looking Charlie Chaplin. They're all fairly bad replicas of their real life counterparts (I mean, you only know its those celebrities because of they're signature looks, i.e. John Wayne's hat, Elvis's hairdo, etc.). I'd say the King Kong right next to it is a better photo op.
