Blanca, Colorado: Tree Carved Fiddler (Gone)
For its fleeting moment of fame, the fiddler pushed the envelope of what can be done with a dead tree turned upside-down.
- Directions:
- From Denver, drive down south on I-25 as far as exit into Walsenburg on I-285, take right going west turn towards Alamosa, over La Veta pass, you pass the community of Fort Garland, keep going west about 2 miles and there you get to Blanca. Just west of the community is the crafts shop.

Tree Carved Fiddler
Recently visited and the famous fiddler had fallen and couldn't get back up. It's a pretty sad sight. However, there were several other carved friends in the store's yard, like "The Wild Woodsman."

The Fiddler was a champ. Don't know if we'd swerve to see the "Wild Woodsman," a man-sized tree stump with a crudely carved Robin Hood head nailed on top.
