In 1900 a hurricane flattened Galveston. In 2000 this statue was dedicated. Then in 2008 a hurricane flattened Galveston again -- but the statue survived.

Artist David Moore created the 1900 Storm Memorial, a 10 ft. tall bronze, installed on the hurricane's 100th anniversary in 2000.
