Freddy Fender Water Tower

I've always wondered where Freddy Fender was from. I found out! San Benito, Texas and they proudly display this fact and his likeness on their water tower. I didn't check to see if there is an annual trip to San Benito to pay homage to Mr. Fender since he did pass away on Oct 14, 2006.

Not too often you see someone's face on a water tower.
