Long Beach, California - Angel Food Donuts A previous tip about Angel Food Donuts at 2657 Santa Fe Avenue in Long Beach said it was one of the old Big Donut Drive-In locations. You asked "Can anyone confirm that there is still a giant donut at this location?" I took up the challenge:
Angel Food Donuts does indeed have a large donut on its roof, but it is NOT a remnant of the mighty Big Donut Drive-In chain. I've seen one other Angel Food store and it too had a large donut seemingly constructed of hardware store air ducts. Definitely not as cool as the Big Donuts. [Don Solosan, 07/29/2007]
Long Beach, California - Big Doughnut I found your page on the defunct Big Donut Drive-In chain and noticed that Angel Food Donuts is not mentioned. This is one of the old Big Donut locations, easily accessible from the 405. Located on Santa Fe Ave., just west of the 405 near Wardlow. Angel Food Donuts also offers delicious croissants, stuffed with ham and cheese, sausage and cheese, or fruit and cream cheese. These must be ordered heated to be truly appreciated.
