Pearsonville, California: Uniroyal Gal

This Uniroyal Gal is known locally as "Hubcap Lady," in honor to longtime town resident Hubcap Annie, "Queen of Hubcaps." She has been a fixture of Pearsonville for decades. She now stands in front of the local park playfield. Her paint is faded from the Mohave Desert sun, but she can be easily seen from the 395 highway.

On a recent Trip to Mammoth, CA for a wedding, we spotted a Uniroyal Girl on Hwy 395, standing near the Pearsonville Water Tank and Park. Pearsonville is in Inyo County, California. The population was 17 at the 2010 census.

Years ago, Pearsonville had been dubbed the "Hubcap Capital of the World," because of former resident Lucy Pearson's collection of hubcaps, which were rumored to number over 80,000.

A well preserved Uniroyal Gal is at the entrance of some sort of shaded area on the east side of Highway 395 near an area called Pearsonville, California. It's basically a wide spot in the highway with a Shell station, and a business which bills itself as the "Hubcap Capital of the World."

If you're really interested, this particular Uniroyal Gal wears pinkish/red underwear :)

I spotted this Uniroyal Gal as I was driving on US 395. She's in great condition in front of a small park in the self-described "Hub Cap Capital of the World." I inquired at a nearby Shell gas station, but nobody there knew any background information about her.

The first Uniroyal Gal spotted in California? There is still dirt piled beside it from digging the concrete footing and the footing still has the forms around it. Hubcap capital of the world. Stealth car is on display in front of the trading post. It appears to be modeled after the Lockheed F-117.
