Chicago, Illinois - Hyde Park's Escaped Parakeets Like the monk parakeets of West Haven CT, there is a population of green parakeets living in Hyde Park, on the near south side of Chicago (near the University of Chicago campus). They can be spotted in the trees around the neighborhood, but are most reliably seen at Nichols Park, where they nest in the trees. [Anna Brawley, 07/08/2007]Address: Chicago, IL
