Middletown, Delaware -
Hummers Parade
Middletown, Delaware - Hummers Parade Every year on New Years day in Middletown, Route 71, local revelers hold a
Hummers Parade down Main Street starting at 12 noon. The parade is a spoof of the better known Mummers Parade in nearby Philadelphia where string bands strut their stuff in facy cosumes. The Hummers parade is a minimally organized event that welcomes everyone to join in the fun. Just two rules are emphasized: First, Taste doesn't count and Second: No one is allowed to work on a costume or float any earlier than the morning of the event.
