Great Dane has shut down their plant due to the downturn in the economy. It will reopen if sales increase to a profitable level. There is a skeleton crew of primarily maintenance personel and plant security still on duty. The Administrative Office Building where the Dog stands is still in operation. Great Dane encourages people to take pictures with/of their mascot, but don't climb on it for obvious safety reasons. They have signs posted and you can be arrested if you do.

The Dog has several hats that he wears during different Holidays. The Dog is a Male.

This is just a few minutes from the interstate, so it's worth a quick drive by to check it out. My kids are easy to please, so they loved it, even though it's just in a parking lot. We jumped out and took some pictures!

This giant Great Dane sits in front of Great Dane Trailers in Savannah, GA. It's nice to see a company so proud of their product they'd create a mascot this size!

November 2008: Great Dane Trailers announced that it was closing this plant in January 2009. We hope that the big dog will stay on as a mascot for its new master....
