Born in North Caroline 1799, died near here in 1857. He was eight-feet-five-inches tall and weighed over 1,000 pounds at time of death. This photo shows the sign in Darden, Tennessee. There is another historical sign near Life, outside of Lexington, Tennessee [which indicates he and his first wife are buried 1.7 miles north]. Could not fine the grave site. Was told several stories that the grave was in another place, while this place was for visitors.
