Cream Cheese Festival
Some day you need to attend the annual Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville, N.Y. Take Cream Cheese Bingo - you use corn kernels to mark your cards, and the caller throws cream cheese at a number board! The World's Biggest Cream Cheese Cake was served to thousands. We got out of there before the Cream Cheese Toss, where competitors throw a handful at their partner, and of course the whole crowd gets it! I would hold up a toasted bagel to try and catch a flying "Schmear" but then who knows from a Bagel and Schmear in Low-freaking-ville, N.Y.
The main street was closed off and all sorts of events went on all day. I was told that afterwards the street would be hosed down by the fire dept. It is probably a really good time to be a field mouse, rat, raccoon or any other creature of the night in Lowville!
