Since I lived only 2 blocks away, (1982-1992) I used to shop at this grocery almost daily, and remember it well. It was your original "Supermarket" from the 1950's, with about 10 or 12 aisles, produce along the outer side and butcher in the back. 2 or 3 check-outs, with no bar code scanner. I believe the old store closed in 1992, when the new store was built at its present S. Buffalo at Winona Sts location. [Debora Severson, 10/23/2008]
Retro Foodliner Sign This sign at the Marsh Supermarket in Warsaw, Indiana has a vintage feel to it. I don't know how old the sign actually is, but "Foodliner" sounds very retro. We pass it every time we travel from Mishawaka, Indiana to visit our daughter at school in Muncie, Indiana, and it just looks cool! [Ross Trimboli, 10/28/2007][RA: Nice enough, but did you happen to notice whether the groceries inside were stacked to resemble an ocean liner? Could make all the difference....]
