Sheep Capital of the Nation

Stopped here on the 2013 northern leg of our "Towns Named Newell" tour. We had a great time in town, but they've taken down the sign declaring it to be the "Sheep Capital."

Sheep Capital of the U.S

About 25 miles north of Sturgis on state route 79 is the town of Newell (pop. 675), the self-proclaimed "Sheep Capital of the U.S." There's really nothing to see there other than the sign welcoming you into town (we basically didn't even slow down while driving through).
