PsychoMania - The Theater of Terror

The Luxmark theater was a landmark theater in the Clarksville area for many years starting in the 1960s. After numerous owners and names, the old theater went through many changes including a shift from two large theater houses to four. In 2003, the theater unexpectedly closed to the public and has been vacant ever since.

This year the theater was taken over by haunters who have been building a haunted attraction in it based on the theater's past history. When Phil Granger (an owner) gave me a tour of the inside it was still under construction, but their work was pretty impressive. I've seen few haunts (mostly out west) that put this amount of production into a "scare show." He asked me not to reveal what they were building, but I saw one construction that was 20 feet into the air (the theater has naturally high ceilings).

They plan to open to the public this year. If they keep up the work at the rate I saw, it should a cool show. [Wayne MacNamara, 04/02/2008]
