Waurika, Oklahoma - Courthouse Grill - Lucky Coffin

New owners are very friendly and love to show off the Lucky Coffin. If you are real nice they will let you peek inside. It is kind of hard to find, just follow the old brick road and look across the street from the old Courthouse.

This unique restaurant has an early 1900s coffin sitting in the main dining area. It is said that if you touch the coffin, it brings you luck, as told by the patrons.

We touched the coffin and decided to purchase a lotto ticket. Guess what? We won. I don't want to say how much -- let's just say it was enough that we could go on another vacation to Waurika, Oklahoma and rub the coffin again. [John Valentine, 03/29/2008]
