Townsend, Tennessee - ChristyFest - Celebrating All Things "Christy"

ChristyFest is a celebration of “Christy” the TV series, movies, and classic novel by Catherine Marshall. It's held annually about the 3rd week of June. Over the years, ChristyFest has become much more than just a fan club meeting. While "Christy" the novel is the main focus, they have broadened the schedule to include to such things as mountain crafts, herbal medicines, the history and lifestyle of early mountain settlements, and music that would have been popular during the time period in which "Christy" the character lived.

In addition to mingling with the TV and movie cast and crew, they also feature seminars by experts in these subjects and an annual field trip to Del Rio, TN, the actual setting of the novel. [Janis Nayyeri, 04/30/2008]
