Visitor Tips and News About Storybook Land
A park maintained by the City of Aberdeen which includes buildings from Mother Goose and The Wizard Of Oz fame, including The Three Little Pigs houses, Peter Pumpkin Eater's Pumpkin House, The Old Lady in the Shoe's shoe-house, A yellow-brick road as well as an entire section of the park devoted to the "Land of Oz".[Ross Feickert, 10/21/2001]
Story Book Land is a beautiful, free, park full of life sized figures and sculptures, Nursery rhymes, and childrens story book characters. There is a new section dedicated to Oz, as the author was an Aberdonian. Ride the train around the park. Ride the carousel. Snack stands open during summer months. Nice RV campground right outside the entrance with lots of playground equipment. Storybook Land is located at Wylie Park which has a water park, lake and lots of picnic and play areas. I have visited there four times in the last ten years.[Lisa Wasnuk, 06/25/2000]
