Wood Carved Statues While zipping down to Mesa Verde, I passed this place on highway 160. My curiosity overcame me and I was greeted by friendly wooden figures as I pulled into the gravel driveway. The same courtesy was given by the co-owners, Dave and Nancy. They have been doing this work for more than a couple of years and have churned out everything from the standard fare (wooden bears, vultures etc.) to the more unique (Navajo jesters, doctors of sacrifice, and a bullfrog catching a fly, etc.). Ask Dave about his opinion on the current war -- that will get him going. Unfortunately no Bigfoot seen.
