Florence Y'all Water Tower Florence Y'all -- When the Florence Mall in Boone County was laid out in the 1960s, the first thing built was a huge water tower. Since this was visible from I-75, they decided to promote the mall by painting Florence Mall on the tower. However, someone decided that it was illegal to "advertise" something that didn't exist, so they were directed to repaint the tower. Instead of going to the expense of a complete repainting, the mall owners changed the "Mall" to read "Y'all." The Florence Y'all sign on the water tower became so well known that it was not changed back to Mall when the mall finally opened. [Geoff Walden, 04/16/2000]
